For anyone eligible for a Covid-19 spring booster - those aged 75+ or immunosuppressed, local NHS teams have provided a number of options to get the vaccine: Some GP surgeries, community pharmacies, the Health on the Move van and clinics in Berkshire West and Oxfordshire all offering booked or walk-in options for vaccination.

It is also important to think about other vaccinations that you or your child may have missed. These include immunisation against whooping cough and measles which are both on the rise, as well as Meningitis, Tetanus, and Polio. More information including vaccination catch up clinics for children and vaccine information for adults can is here: bit.ly/yourvaccines . If you are not sure of your own vaccine status, ask at your GP surgery .

For people more vulnerable to illnesses, it is important to get a full vaccine dose to stay well and reduce symptoms should you catch a virus. Vaccines can also help stop the spread and keep other vulnerable people safer from infection.

The Chief Nursing Officer for NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB) Rachael Corser said: “I would encourage anyone eligible for vaccination against Covid-19 or any other virus to know their vaccine status.

“If you are nervous about needles, or have any questions about vaccine safety, the vaccinators and clinical staff will be happy to discuss this with you.

“And remember, with Covid-19 you don’t have to wait to get an invite – if eligible, you can book online now or call 119 free. Alternatively, if you are near a walk-in clinic you can just turn up with no appointment needed.”
